Some of the new products presented by car manufacturers at My Special Car Show 2007
(updated as at Monday 2 April 2007)

CITROËN
In Rimini, Citroën unveils its new C2 VTS Supersprint special series, making its worldwide preview. Born of the partnership with the well-known manufacturer of sports exhaust pipes, Supersprint, the C2 VTS Supersprint is the soft tuning version of the VTS. Citroën has included as standard issue many components that tuning fans install on their C2s, to guarantee the safety of type approved products. The Supersprint version is an authentic upgrade of the VTS, and remains the queen of small sports cars.
At the Rimini event, the French carmaker will also showcase the C1 Sport. This vehicle, which was presented at the Bologna Motor Show as an accessory kit, now becomes a fully-fledged member of the C1 range. On sale from March, the C1 Sport represents a grittier road version of the C1, overturning its image as a quiet city-car. The style is akin to that of 1970s and 1980s racing cars, with a far from understated reference to the Double Chevron racing liveries that dominate the top Rally championships.
The Citroën show area will also be home to Radio M20, its entertainment partner for the three exhibition days, with live broadcasts from Rimini and entertainment.
At My Special Car Show, Citroën also organises a special initiative in collaboration with the monthly magazine Elaborare. The competition “La Regina delle piccole cattive la trovi a Rimini” was in fact launched a few days ago, which rewards the best creative talents in the Citroën C2 tuning field. The competition is open to all owners of “tuned” C2s, who may take part by sending a photograph of their C2 to the Elaborare offices by 10 April. A specially-formulated jury will select the eight C2s that stand out for the originality and style of their interior and exterior customisation and that will then be showcased on the Elaborare stand at the Rimini-based exhibition. Citroën offers the winners a number of prizes, including eight snowboards and a number of Citroën Sport rucksacks.

DAIHATSU
Thanks to its partnership with Kenwood, in Rimini Daihatsu will present two absolutely extraordinary models, inside and out. Daihatsu Materia, the MPV with a unique character, shines with its chrome bonnet, side panel and tailgate trim. The exterior door handles are also chrome-plated and the significantly more aggressive design, with the addition of two side skirts, rear spoiler, chrome wheel rims, racing tyres and self-retracting electric wing mirror with indicators. The real “treat”, however, is the design of the interiors, a true “sound and video machine”, as explosive as a four-wheel ghetto blaster. The striking features include a double din monitor, with radio, CD, MP3, WMA DVD and DviX player. The monitors can be used to control both audio and video iPods or the Bluetooth hands-free kit, or to find the way with a latest generation navigation system on Flash Memory, that can be upgraded using an SD Card with TMC Tuner that picks up traffic conditions in real time. The Dual Zone system separates the audio and video signals to allow passengers, for example, to watch a DVD while the driver follows the indications of the navigator. The singular 3,000 Watt audio system with class D monophonic amplifier, 4-channel power amp, 2 additional 2-channel amps, 30 cm Kenwood subwoofers, range top and 2 separate 3-way speaker systems. The other vehicle featuring in the Daihatsu area is the Sport version of the Sirion with side skirts, driving lights and spoiler, whose racing red interiors, special rims and personalised outfitting with “custom” steering wheel and gearstick knob and Kenwood “Car Theater” audio system make it a really gritty car.

FIAT GROUP AUTOMOBILES
Fiat takes part in My Special Car Show with a number of special Panda and Grande Punto models on show on a suggestive and strong-visual-impact stand with a metropolitan theme. The main attractions of the exhibition area will be the extraordinary versions of the Fiat Panda, starting from the Panda Cross “Dakar 2007” that took part in the famous race with the crews Miki Biasion - Tiziano Siviero and Bruno Saby - Rudy Briani. The stand will also dedicate space to the Panda Cingolata and the Panda Tanker. The former is a tracked prototype that has been used on the snow at Madonna di Campiglio, and the Panda Tanker is an original concept car ideal for those who practise any type of sport and built by “Change design” for Dainese, in conjunction with the Fiat Design Centre. Alongside these special versions, the public will be able to admire the Panda Rally, the competition vehicle that will be taking part in the relevant 2007 single-brand championship. Visitors will also have the chance to admire a show car based on the Grande Punto model, that “moves” to the rhythm of music thanks to a special suspension system and a Grande Punto with lowered suspensions and equipped with a sophisticated audio, video and videogame system made in collaboration with Alpine. The theme of the Fiat stand recalls a metropolitan world with garages, shop windows and graffiti on the walls. Neon lights and fluorescent colours chromatically characterise the exhibition area and music will come from a DJ box created inside the bodywork of a Grande Punto. Finally, in a dedicated outdoor area, the public has the chance to enjoy exciting competitions with the Big Cross remote-controlled cars.

OPEL
The major attraction for anyone visiting the Opel stand at My Special Car Show is the new Corsa OPC, a vehicle that represents the maximum expression of dynamic temperament of the fourth generation of Opel Corsa.
Great handling and total control in all situations assure heightened driving pleasure. A special mention goes to the 192 hp 1,600 turbo petrol engine (141 kW): combined with manual six-gear transmission (standard issue) it gives the Opel Corsa OPC what it takes to reach 100 km/h from standstill in just 7.2 seconds and a top speed of 225 km/h. It boasts a peak torque of 23.5 kgm (230 Nm) and for a few seconds can even exceed 27.1 kgm (266 Nm) using the “overboost” function. With the OPC setup, the new three-door Opel Corsa takes on an even sportier character. The upper rear spoiler, lower front and back aerodynamic appendages make it particularly special.
My Special Car Show will also feature some of the new versions of the sportiest and most fascinating models in the ASTRA range, such as the highly sporty Astra OPC and the cabrio-coupé Astra Twintop. Astra OPC is a three-door compact car with a silhouette reminiscent of a coupé. Outfitted with a 240hp (177 kW) 2.0-litre petrol turbo engine, it reaches 100 km/h from standstill in 6.4 seconds and has a top speed of 244 km/h. The vehicle’s consumption (9.2 litres per 100 kilometres) highlights the great efficiency of the engine, combined with manual six-gear transmission.
The car’s spectacular design is characterised by a front aerodynamic appendage, central bonnet vent, large 18” 6-spoke OPC rims, 225/40 tyres and trapezoid central exhaust pipe. Standard issue features include an IDSPlussystem network that coordinates the electronic driving assistance devices such as stability control (ESPPlus) traction control (TCPlus) and various braking system functions.
With its sporty, elegant silhouette, the Opel Astra Twintop distinguishes itself from other latest generation cabrio-coupé. The innovative three-part roof creates a harmonious and fluid outline and at the same time an extremely flexible vehicle.
The 2007 version of the Opel Astra Twintop is on sale in Italy with three brilliant petrol-powered engines ranging from 115 hp to 180 hp and with a 150 hp 1.9-litre turbo diesel common-rail engine with anti-particulate filter, all boasting 16V cylinders and Euro 4 type approval.

The new definition of two-seater sports car now takes the shape of the new Opel GT, recently elected “Cabriolet of the year 2007”. The direct petrol injection turbo engine boasts 264 hp and 0-100 km/h acceleration from standstill in under 6 seconds. The new two-seater takes its name from the legendary Opel sports car manufactured between 1968 and 1973 and like its coupé forefather, it occupies one of the most intriguing sectors of the market.

PEUGEOT
For the second consecutive year, Peugeot is at Rimini with a show space dedicated entirely to the 207, highlighting its sports vocation and the most recent novelties of the range.
The racing models showcased by Peugeot at My Special Car Show announce the national preview of the 207 RC. A direct injection 1.6-litre THP (Turbo High Pressure) petrol engine developed in conjunction with BMW, unleashes 128 kW (≈175 CV) of power with a torque of 240 Nm even at 1600 rpm, a top speed of 220 km/h and 0 – 100 km/h acceleration in 7.1 seconds, to make the 207 RC the sporty heart of the whole 207 range.
To reiterate the spirit of the 207 RC, the Peugeot stand highlights its twin competitive aspect, road and track: the 207 SUPER 2000 and the SPIDER 207.
The SUPER 2000, which has registered for the 2007 Italian Rally Championships, is fitted with a 280 hp 2-litre engine, four-wheel drive and two limited slip differentials, upholding Peugeot’s rally vocation after the 205 T16, 306 Maxi, 206 WRC and 307 WRC.

SEAT
Seat participates with an exhibition space packed with innovation and decidedly “street style” tones. The Spanish manufacturer will showcase four vehicles: the Leon Cupra Capirex by Suomy, a special edition of the powerful Leon Cupra 2.0 TFSI 240 HP, made in collaboration with Suomy, of which just 65 vehicles signed by Loris Capirossi will be manufactured. The details characterising the vehicle are its Inferi Black paintwork and red rear-view mirrors that match the brake callipers. The car will be released in late spring and will be sold with the “Extreme Capirossi Replica” helmet. Owners will be offered the chance to take part in a Capirossi Safety School motorcycle course or, alternatively, a car driving course at the Seat Racing Centre.
The other main attraction will be the Ibiza Stylance 1.4 16V with customised Kenwood interiors featuring a sintomonitor with MP3, WMA, DVD and DviX player. On Saturday 14 April, the vehicle will be completely graffiti-ed by one of the writers of Rapture, a programme broadcast on All Music – Seat’s entertainment partner for this edition of My Special Car Show – to further emphasise its “street style” mood. As far as accessories are concerned, the Leon 2.0 TDI 170 CV models an aerodynamic kit: the already strong sports vocation of the vehicle can therefore be further emphasized by a spoiler, side skirts and various exhaust pipe solutions created specially for the Leon. The most exciting part of the Seat stand consists of the racing area dedicated to the Leon Supercopa MK2 301 HP, one of the Martorell-based company’s most powerful competition vehicles, which competes in the ETCS (Endurance Touring Car Series) Championship.

SMART
Italian preview at My Special Car Show for the two BRABUS versions of the new Smart, the maximum expression of sports values and exclusivity designed by the famous German tuner, together with Smart BRABUS ’07 range of accessories and the latest novelties of the smartwear clothing line.
With 72 kW/98 hp, smart BRABUS and smart BRABUS Xclusive are 30% more powerful than the previous BRABUS model. Smart BRABUS puts its sporty nature in the forefront. Smart BRABUS Xclusive stands out for its sporty character and exclusive style. Over the Smart BRABUS, the Xclusive version comes fitted with an even richer spectrum of standard features to satisfy even the most stylish expectations and has the same engines and exceptional performance as the smart BRABUS. Outfitted with oversize "Monoblock VI" alloy wheel rims and rear wheel arches, sporty exhaust system and special rear bumper, smart BRABUS Xclusive is unmistakeable even at a glance, thanks above all to the front BRABUS spoiler and BRABUS side skirts that colour coordinate with the bodywork and burnished headlights. The vehicle’s standard features also include a restyled three-spoke leather-clad steering wheel, built-in gear controls and velvet BRABUS floor mats. VOLKSWAGEN
At My Special Car Show Volkswagen shows two real superstars of the Golf range: the GTI Edition 30 and the R32. Edition 30 is a GTI with special fittings, created to celebrate the 30-year career of the GTI, a legend among compact sports vehicles. The Edition 30 boasts 39 hp more than normal GTIs, for a total of 230 hp. The specimen on display at Rimini is outfitted with the exceptional DSG transmission with double clutch, a transmission that combines the advantages of manual and automatic gearboxes and provides excellent sports driving. The design by Volkswagen Individual, includes a special aerodynamic kit with appendages on the bumpers and side skirts. The most striking element are the black painted 18” Detroit rims that give the vehicle an even nastier look. The Edition 30’s performance lives up to the GTI’s reputation: 245 km/h top speed and 6,8 seconds take it from 0 to 100 km/h.
The R32 is the fastest and most powerful serial production Golf of all times: Its 6V cylinder 3.2-litre engine boast a 250 hp peak and a top speed of 250 km/h. The combination of standard issue 4MOTION integral traction with such a high potential allows 0-100 km/h acceleration in 6,2 seconds.

VOLVO
The participation of Volvo at My Special Car Show 2007 centres on the C30 model, the "baby" of the family, which was recently released for sale aimed at a young target. The great interest the model has aroused can be primarily attributed to the many customisation possibilities the vehicle offers, with a series of aftermarket optionals and accessories available to customers. At Rimini, the Volvo stand features a number of Volvo C30s with varying degrees of customisation and tuning, through to its most extreme expression. Besides seeing them fitted to the vehicles on show, visitors can also take a close look at some of the most significant accessories conceived for the Volvo C30 (body kit, rims, interior fittings) in a special display area. At My Special Car Show, Volvo will also be presenting a C30 in Volvo Active Drive guise; in other words, one of the vehicles used for the driving courses of the Carlo Rossi Driving Camp, one of the best-known safe and sports driving schools in the business, with which Volvo Auto Italia has been working for several years. On the Volvo stand, visitors can also book Volvo C30 test drives at dealerships in the official Volvo network and receive full information on Volvo Active Driving course participation.

The Chairman will be Mauro Tedeschini, Editor-in-Chief of Quattroruote.
The other initiatives organised by Editoriale Domus in Rimini also include a car review called “From the roads to the races”: featuring competition vehicles derived from standard models. The stars of the show will be those of the fiercely-contended WTCC world touring car championship, such as the Seat Leon and Alfa Romeo 156, and rally cars like Peugeot 206 WRC and Subaru Impreza Group N. The “supercar” of the year, on the Car Emotion stand, will be a Spyker, a brand that also participated in the 2006 edition of the Bologna Motor Show.

MAK
MAK presents three new wheels at My Special Car Show: MAK Vertigo, the new passenger car wheel, MAK XLR, the new extra light wheel conceived for customisation of pure sports cars and TSW Sakata, the new multi-spoke wheel manufactured by TSW International.
MAK Vertigo has been designed to satisfy the style and design requirements of a young public that wishes to customise its vehicle with a highly distinctive product. The wheel sports an extremely unusual style that stands out from the more classic and commonplace styles. Composed of five slim, streamlined spokes that create a very peculiar shape, MAK Vertigo is destined to give a great sporty, highly aggressive visual impact, when seen from the side.
The sports spirit of MAK Vertigo is already expressed in the “base” version, i.e. MAK’s conventional Hyper Silver colours. However, in order to further emphasise the wheel, the company has decided to market a second, even more extreme variant: Namely the “Mirror”, finish with a black base and a diamond spoke finish, which creates a very strong chromatic contrast and special, fun lighting effect.
The two versions of MAK Vertigo are available in different applications: 7J17”, 8J17”, 8J18” and 9J18” for the Silver model, 7J17”, 8J17” and 8J18” for the Mirror variant.
The acronym XLR stands for “Extra Light Racing”, namely the promise of an extremely lightweight product that obviously draws its inspiration from the world of racing. MAK XLR is dedicated to all owners of compact, fast, gritty and powerful sports cars. Equally well suited to young, dynamic tuning and more mature yet equally sporty and unique customisation requirements, MAK XLR therefore represents a valid response to the need to communicate an enthusiastic and character-rich style.
MAK XLR is a sophisticated and truly unique multi-spoke wheel: the twelve spokes that make up the central design are extremely slim and streamlined and reminiscent of those on racing cars. MAK XLR is a design wheel that aspires to re-confirm the inspiration, soul and mission with which the Brescia-based firm has manufactured wheels for fifteen years: playing on all-Italian design and on the originality of the style attributed to its products.
MAK XLR is available in the measurement range best suited to compact, medium power vehicles: 7J16”, 7J17” and 8J18. It comes in the innovative “Satin” shade, a special, elegant grey satin finish.
TSW Sakata represents an innovative multi-spoke design resting on an inner channel that is set slightly back from the rim. The spokes are slim and square and give a very linear, regular and constant look to the wheel, which is well suited to outfitting passenger cars and medium sized SUVs characterised by a sturdy, distinctive and impressive style.
TSW Sakata is more than ever an expression of “Car Fashion”, the tendency to enhance, outfit and modify one’s car with unique original accessories, able to diversify and identify cars with a personal style. TSW Sakata is available in the following applications: 7j17”, 8J17”, 8J18”, 9J18”, 8J19”, 9,5J19”, 8,5J20” and 10J20”.
