Springtime sunshine and exhibition halls packed with visitors at My Special Car Show, the Special and Sports Car Exhibition taking place atRimini exhibition centre until 15 April.

The morning started as testimonial of the 2007 edition of My Special Car Show, Melita Toniolo – one of the stars of Italian Big Brother 2007 - handed over the AUTO EUROPA TUNER 2007 prize to Subaru for its Impreza STI. The new Chairman of UIGA (Italian Motoring Journalists’ Union), Pierluigi Bonora, emphasised that  Subaru   had been selected for the major contribution made by the manufacturer to the promotion of road safety among youngsters and for technological innovation, an important part of Subaru’s production strategy. The prize was accepted by the Managing Director of the Japanese carmaker,Mario Sacchiero, and Marketing and PR Director,Alberto Zambelli Rain.

The day continued with a visit bythe testimonial who posed for photographs before visiting the Rimini Exhibition Centre halls packed with tuning enthusiasts.

In the afternoon, a roundtable was organised by monthly periodical ACS – Audio Car Stereo and Promotor International on «Car audio: plans for a competitive national circuit». The main players of the meeting were the representatives of top  Car Stereo manufacturers, such as Vincenzo Biasella (SkyWay) Cinzia Bonafede (EB Acoustic) Luca Bugli (AUDIODESIGN) Leonardo Falcetelli (ELETTROMEDIA) Marco Falconi (ALPINE ITALIA) and Andra Sirtori (PIONEER ITALIA). The moderator of the roundtable was Mauro Neri, director-in-chief of the monthly publication ACS – Audio Car Stereo. The aim of the debate was to gather trade professionals’  opinion on the possibility of creating a national circuit of «Sound Quality», SPL (Sound Pressure Level) and Tuning competitions in line with market demands.

Last, but by no means least, came a high-profile debut for two new My Special Car Show rallies dedicated to Car Audio: SPL: – SPECIAL PRESSURE LEVEL, an event for all in-car decibel enthusiasts that involved 98 cars and Special Sound, an appointment dedicated to the creativity of in-car listening fans, private subjects and fitters, which involved 150 registered participants.

Today My Special Car Show also welcomed world-class rally driver Gigi Galli, who met with supporters and the general public on the My Special Club stage and tried his hand at drifting at My Special Club 1/10, the first meeting of radio-controlled cars, all of which were rigorously customised tuning-style.

Sunday at My Special Car Show will be dedicated to award events for the clubs participating in My Special Club and enthusiasts’ «creations».
